Shaheed Wright, 25 of East Orange New Jersey ,told his son the drugs were candy after he hid several bags of cocaine in his son's jacket following an alleged run in with Newark police, according to city police spokesman Detective Todd McClendon. Wright was arrested at his South Munn Avenue residence this afternoon and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. The children, identified as one girl and three boys, were all four years of age. A teacher at the daycare center had the children taken to Beth Israel Hospital around 9:30 a.m. when they noticed the girl had a foreign object in her mouth, which was later identified as a small plastic bag filled with cocaine.

Wow that concert was dope. the live band really did it for me they were on point. props to that band. and much love to those that lost family on 9/11. His concerts are usually always really good and well thought out. from each song to song. i loved all the guests that he brought out. from john meyer diddy kid cudi santagold beyonce mary j blige kanye west rhianna and more. definetly a concert worth going to for only 50 dollars wat. i should have tried to get tickets. i also like the fact that he performed his classic shit. cant knock the hustle, hard knock life, jigga what jigga who. list goes on. and you are right this man has one hell of a catologue to perform from. a list full of classics and hits that go for days. i liked the show after watching it everything was on point. and it is a beautiful thing when you look into madison square garden see a packed crowd and there are so many different races. it was so colorful. thats wat i like to see. hip hop is the best genre it breaks down race barriers and unites people. i dont know how anyone can honestly watch this and have anything negative to say. Because this was a dope concert. well thought out with a great band.

Baby Born On NYC Mass Transit For 2nd Straight Day

For the second day in a row a newborn girl has been born on New York City's mass transit system. A Brooklyn bus became a makeshift delivery room on Friday morning. A woman passenger helped the mother deliver the baby that just couldn't wait to come aboard.Paramedics took the new mother and baby to a hospital. On Thursday, conductor Bretta Sykes helped a mother deliver a girl in a subway car. The mother of two says she used information from her own chilbirth classes to coach the woman through her seven-minute delivery. A New York City Transit spokesman says it could be the system's first consecutive births on a subway train and a bus. A passenger in the subway car took out her cell phone and recorded the birth which landed on the local evening news. Transit officials say mother and child are doing well at a hospital. Their names were not released. The last mass transit birth was a girl born on a Manhattan subway platform last June. MTA subways, buses, and railroads provide 2.6 billion trips to New Yorkers annually.

WTF?! Man recruits attacker on Craigslist to rape wife

A North Carolina man has been charged with first-degree rape after he advertised on Craigslist for a stranger to rape his unsuspecting wife while he watched.The 25-year-old man, who was not named to protect the victim, allegedly used the online dertising service to recruit an intruder to come into his Kannapolis home and rape his wife using some type of scare tactic, Police said the attacker, armed with a knife, assaulted the woman while the couple’s two young children were in the house. At first detectives believed the woman had been raped by someone who had broken into her home. But they found no sign of forced entry at the house and decided the husband’s statement did not add up. They later determined the rapist had responded to at least two personal ads soliciting someone to have sex with the suspect’s wife. It was unclear if the attacker had been paid. Police are still trying to determine his identity. The wife was treated at a hospital and later released.

Though the case against Chris Brown for the alleged assault on Rihanna earlier this year continues to play out in Los Angeles courtrooms, a friend of Brown's says the singer is doing his best to move forward and concentrate on work. "Chris is Focused, says songwriter Robert Allen, who is working with Brown on his upcoming album, Tentatively titled Graffiti. "He knows how to deal with whatever is going on and is willing to do what he has to do to please his fans." To do that, Brown plans to bring a different vibe to his music. "It's not particularly just R&B," says Allen, who has worked on songs with Brown in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. "Chris is trying different things and experimenting. We've been making things really eclectic. The direction of this album is really fun and free spirited. It's like a collage." Black cop killed by White officer: Horror in East Harlem as Off-duty rookie is shot while pursuing suspect

An off-duty rookie cop chasing a suspected car thief in East Harlem with his gun drawn was shot and killed Thursday night when an officer mistook him for a criminal. "Police! Stop! T.I. asks for two-week delay in beginning sentence

Atlanta rap star T.I. will have to report to a low-security prison in Arkansas on Tuesday. On Friday, U.S. District Judge Judge Charles A. Pannell Jr. denied the rapper’s motion to delay reporting to prison. On Thursday, lawyers requested extra time to petition the federal Bureau of Prisons to house the rapper in a minimum security prison camp instead of the detention facility. “There is nothing more we can do pre-reporting,” said Donald F. Samuel, the rapper’s lawyer. “We think he was scored the wrong way.” T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., is scheduled to report to the Forrest City Correctional Institute on Tuesday. On Friday, Samuel said he plans to continue to ask the federal Bureau of Prisons to re-classify the music star once he is detained. T.I. will receive no special treatment and will be treated just like the other inmates, said Capt. R.D. Weeks, spokesman for the Forrest City prison. “Unless there is a need to alter, we operate normal Bureau of Prisons’ procedures,” Weeks said. T.I. will be housed with another inmate in one of 12 cubicle-style units, Weeks said. The rapper was sentenced to serve a year and a day for illegal firearms possession and being a convicted felon with a firearm. He was arrested Oct. 13, 2007, just hours before he was to receive two awards at the BET Hip-Hop Awards ceremony in Atlanta. He was taken into custody by federal agents at a Midtown parking lot for trying to buy machine guns and silencers. City to investigate whether swine flu caused baby boy's death at Queens hospital

The father of a 16 month old who may have died of swine flu at a Queens hospital. He's stunned by his young son's death.Zamora whose son Jonathan could be the city's second death related to the H1N1 virus rushed the boy to the hospital Monday after his fever spiked as high as 105 degrees. He died soon afterward. Health officials are running tests and expect to know soon whether swine flu killed the boy or not.

Usher's wife Tameka Foster Raymond still laying low months after plastic surgery scare

Doting dad Usher frolicked in Miami with his oldest son Tuesday, but his wife was no where to be seen. Tameka Foster Raymond hasn't been spotted in public with her husband since her mid-February hospitalization in Brazil for plastic surgery complications. Usher has since attended multiple meetings in D.C., hit up the Kids' Choice Awards and seemingly taken a vacation with his tot without his other half. The R&B crooner cancelled a scheduled pre-Grammy performance to rush to his ailing wife's side, citing a "serious family injury." Is a 12-year-old too young to date?

"Mom--I think I'm ready to date!'' That was the text message I got from my 12-year-old son one day. Luckily I was sitting down when I received it. I ran over in my mind what girl had captured my son's attention or what friend was pushing him into something I thought he was way to young to even consider. His 21-year old-sister did not date until she was 16, and that was too young in my eyes. My son and I sat down to talk and the first thing out of his mouth was "All my friends are dating!" So when I asked him to list all his friends and it ended up being a grand total of 2 that actually had girlfriends - one of them being our 14 year old neighbor. When I asked how he knew they were dating his response was that "They are nice to each other." I then asked him if he knew what dating meant? I was very proud of him when the first answer that came out of his mouth was "to be respectful of the other person." So I suggested to him that if he had a girl at school he liked, he should start slow with the relationship by saying hello to her in the mornings. Then maybe we could discuss group dates once they got to know each other. To this day, I don't think he has done that, and he has yet to be able to explain to me what dating really is. Hopefully, that lasts a year or two more and the next time he asks the question his dad is around to answer.

new cases of swine flu confirmed in New York City, brings total to 28

The number of killer swine flu cases identified in Queens jumped from eight to 28 overnight, but no one is gravely ill, officials said today. Mayor Bloomberg said another 17 possible victims are being monitored but added all the cases are associated with the St. Francis Prep school in Fresh Meadows. "We have one reported cluster of swine flu at one school," Bloomberg said. He said calls to every intensive care unit in the city turned up no one who is sick with the flu, About 100 students and parents at the school are believed to have been infected with the flu. Only one person was hospitalized and has recovered.In Mexico, the national school system was shuttered after the death toll reached 149. Mexico remains the only country where anyone has died of the virus.

The Library received notification of another 4%, or $5 million, cut to its fiscal year 2010 funding bringing the total proposed fiscal year 2010 City cut to $28.2 million. The Management and Budget which outlines the devastating effect this level of cut would have to our staff and services. The impact of the proposed additional $5million cut would be 125 more layoffs which would result in a total reduction of 18% of the workforce. Average weekly hours and days of service would be reduced. It is important for you to know how we are vigorously fighting against these cuts. Please if you uses the library for research, reading, watching of movies or to use the computer than you know the importance of having the library open with staff members there to help with you. Please contact your City Council member and the Mayor. In addition, we are also rolling out an aggressive on-line advocacy campaign giving all of our on-line users the opportunity to voice their opposition to these devastating budget cuts using nypl.org, email and social media. It is critical in these very difficult economic times that the voices of support for the Library are heard by the budget decision makers in as many ways possible and in great numbers.

Rapper Jones arrested in NJ on traffic warrant

TEANECK, N.J.Rapper Jim Jones has been arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant in northern New Jersey. Jones, known for the hit "We Fly High (Ballin')", was stopped in Teaneck early Monday morning for an equipment violation. It was discovered he had an outstanding motor vehicle warrant from nearby Paterson. Jones was taken to police headquarters in Teaneck where he posted $120 bail and was released. Teaneck police say Jones was scheduled to appear in court in Paterson on Tuesday to answer the outstanding warrant.
